Diets ✨What’s your stance on diets? . Many diets tend to alienate food groups or focus mainly on one food group over the other (e.g. keto, low carb, low fat, vegan, paleo, etc.). While this may be beneficial for some people, following strict diets or guidelines for eating usually isn’t helpful for most people, and often doesn’t support their health in the long run. Unless you have health conditions that require strict eating and cutting out food groups, it is usually best to get some foods from each food group (carb, fat, protein)! . My approach to eating centers on balance — eating a balanced combination of each food group — proteins, carbs, and fats. While research studies may support the benefits of some diets (keto, paleo, low carb, low fat, etc.), there are often other research studies showing negative consequences of these diets, or showing health benefits of opposing diets. This can be super confusing and make it stressful to know what diet is really the most health promoting! 😅 . I’d argue that not one diet is better than the other. What most of these different diets have in common is a focus on eating less processed and refined foods and instead choosing to eat whole foods; high quality carbs, proteins and fats. Everyone is different though and needs different amounts of each food group! And your needs can also differ depending on your activity each day.....! Pay attention to what foods your body craves and does well with. 🙏 . I’d suggest you don’t alienate yourself to one diet. Rather, I’d suggest you focus on eating high quality protein, fats and carbs and see what foods make you thrive! . What’s your stance on diets? Do you follow a particular diet? . Any diets you love? who doesn’t know, i have a lover since i was a kid 🥺 that’s a big bowl of tomato pasta, with vegetables and cheese, grated on top! when i was a kid, i didn’t care about food, nutrients, calories, macronutrients, i was just eating, simply eating, what my parents craved, what my grandma cooked for me with love. since i had my eating disorder i couldn’t eat food cooked by someone else, i just felt depressed and alienated from everyone. from food freedom especially. now i’m stronger than my eating disorder, BUT i always check if those thoughts haven’t crossed the line i made, if they did, i go back and work on them, till they go away again 👊🏾 YOUR LIFE IN YOUR HANDS, you have to decide what do you want to do with your choices

I see you sitting there watching your friends eat all the pizza and drink all the drinks and you’re stuck eating veggies because your diet doesn’t allow for things like that....⁣ ⁣ I see you cutting all the carbs because that’s what the next fad diet is telling you to do...⁣ ⁣ I see you counting all the calories, and spending an hour running on the treadmill in hopes to “burn off” the treats you had...⁣ ⁣ I see you stressing over the fact the number on the scale went up 2lbs, and punishing yourself with salad... I see you feeling guilty over a date night out with the hubby because you enjoyed a few slices 🍕and a glass or two of wine🍷...⁣ ⁣ I see you doing quick fixes like juice cleanse, “fat burning” pills that suppress your appetite, or force feeding yourself those prepackaged meals that tastes like straight card board....⁣ ⁣ I see you busting ass in the gym yet you’re left feeling frustrated because the results just aren’t showing...⁣ ⁣ Sister, I see you And I get it!! I did all of those same things for YEARS in hopes it would help me lose weight, help me get healthy, & make me happy — yet NONE of that worked! In fact, Most of those attempts left me even more miserable and defeated then I was before. and by rare chance, it did “work” those results were short lived.⁣ ⁣ It wasn’t until I found these programs that: actually TAUGHT me how to fuel my body with REAL wholesome foods, that helped me break the DIET mentality, and helped me create a LIFESTYLE that would actually last. A program that required me to show up and put in the work. A program that made it super simple and helped me create a healthy relationship with food AND more importantly my body. A program that came with a community of support, daily accountability, and guidance. it was until I let go of the BS excuses and limiting beliefs that I couldn’t do this that change my entire life!⁣ ⁣ You ready to change yours?! Diets ✨What’s your stance on diets? . Many diets tend to alienate food groups or focus mainly on one food group over the other (e.g. keto, low carb, low fat, vegan, paleo, etc.). While this may be beneficial for some people, following strict diets or guidelines for eating usually isn’t helpful for most people, and often doesn’t support their health in the long run. Unless you have health conditions that require strict eating and cutting out food groups, it is usually best to get some foods from each food group (carb, fat, protein)! . My approach to eating centers on balance — eating a balanced combination of each food group — proteins, carbs, and fats. While research studies may support the benefits of some diets (keto, paleo, low carb, low fat, etc.), there are often other research studies showing negative consequences of these diets, or showing health benefits of opposing diets. This can be super confusing and make it stressful to know what diet is really the most health promoting! 😅 . I’d argue that not one diet is better than the other. What most of these different diets have in common is a focus on eating less processed and refined foods and instead choosing to eat whole foods; high quality carbs, proteins and fats. Everyone is different though and needs different amounts of each food group! And your needs can also differ depending on your activity each day.....! Pay attention to what foods your body craves and does well with. 🙏 . I’d suggest you don’t alienate yourself to one diet. When someone says don’t eat fruit because it’s too high in sugar... 🙄 . . I used to avoid fruit because it was too high in sugar and carbs when I was trying to ‘lose weight’ and I’m here to tell ya, DO NOT DO THAT! Fruit is amazing. It tastes great, it is packed full of nutrients, and it gives you energy! . . It’s high in NATURAL sugars (fructose) which is NOT the enemy. Fruit is fueling and sooo beneficial to your overall health. Your body gets so many nutrients from eating a variety of fruits just like it does vegetables and it is packed full of fiber which is a whole other benefit. Take advantage of the benefits and try to get some fun fruits to add to your breakfast, snacks, dessert, whatever you want! . . I didn’t workout on Friday. 😱😉 I intended to, and it didn’t happen. We were going to do it on Saturday, and guess what, it didn’t happen then either. At this point in my journey , it’s not my norm, but it’s also something that just happens sometimes. It happens to people in my groups all the time (because we are normal human beings), and they ask what they should do about it. ➡️Two choices: skip over the workout and hop on track with where I wanted to be OR do it today and catch up as/if I can. GUESS WHAT?! There is no right or wrong. The important thing is to check my mindset as I make my decision. I didn’t fail. I shouldn’t just quit. I have nothing to be ashamed of. Yet these are the common feelings that I see in people and I’m tempted to feel myself at times. The same goes for nutrition. One big event and I might as well push off my “start date” we often say. Too many treats, and I ruined the day! That all points to a diet mentality instead of a lifestyle mentality. There is no start date. It’s always a good time to start. If something happens that you didn’t intend on, you get a fresh start right away. Find healthy rhythms for your body, for your mind. give yourself some grace friends, and do this because it feels good. Do it because you want to live longer. Do it because you’ll be more patient with your children. Do it because you simply want to be more healthy and be an example for those around you. Sure, 7 months postpartum, I’m still going for some numerical changes, but those don’t last if I’m also not working on my mindset. in February, I’m running a group that’s going to focus on healthy habits of fitness and nutrition, but also focus on loving ourselves right where we are. God created you, and he did not make a mistake. You are beautiful as you are, but you can still work on making choices that will bring you deeper life.
