How to go to the most touristic and safe district of Lima Miraflores from airport?
Here is some tips ↓
International airport Jorge Cháves (LIM) is located 12 km far from center, in district Callao, which is not so safe for tourists.
First option -to take official taxi from airport to the city.
It will cost you around 60-70S/16,4-19,1€. This is the most safe and comfortable way if you have a lot of baggage.
Second option- to take Airport Express Bus.
It goes to Miraflores with stops near the most popular hotels. The price is 20S/5,47€ one way or 35S/9,5€ round trip. Bus stop is located in front of Costa del Sol Wyndham Hotel.
Third option - to take taxi outside of airport.
Here the price can be 2 times cheaper than official taxi. But! You should speak Spanish.
Try to make picture of car number (but be careful with cell phone, someone can just wrest it out of your hands)or just remember it, as I heard stories that taxi drivers can drive away with your baggage if you loose attention and without this police will not help you.
Don’t try to order Uber to the airport! Uber isn’t a licensed taxi, so drivers are banned from airport.
And the fourth option- to take local bus outside of airport. This is the most cheap, but not very comfortable.
And here can be options too.
- take combi bus directly to Miraflores.
The price is 3S/0,8€.
But! They are small and if you have a lot of baggage it will be not the most comfortable hour in your life! And you should take care of all your belongings, as pickpockets are still very common in Lima, so it’s better to put all your money, documents and cell phone somewhere close to your body, where you will control them better. - to take small combi bus to next district San Miguel and from there take big bus to Miraflores.
It can be the same price or maybe 1-2S/0,2-0,5€ more, but a bit more comfortable.
As we are living in district Surco, we used small combi bus from airport to the border of 3 districts- Miraflores, Surquillo and Surco. The price was 3S/0,8€ and it took around 1,5h without usual traffic on the roads as it was early morning.
